Day 14 - Fun and Games

It rained most of the day today.  It was a good thing that our plans with family were to hang around the house and play games,
bar-b-que and relax...it ended up being the perfect plan!

The four of us made it over to Matt & Laurel's/ Grandma & Grandpa's just before noon today - it turns out that we were given the wrong RV site last night so we had to move everything to the new (and improved, by the way) site before we headed to the house this morning.

Games, a Lincoln Log building session (now isn't that fitting, since we spent hours just a few days ago learning all about Abe?), leg wrestling matches, push up battles and a saltine eating contest took up a lot of the day! Good conversations and great food made up the rest - I LOVE these kind of days!  I especially love these kind of days with these people - our family ROCKS!!

You remember these, right?

The kids still love them!
This has always been a family favorite and now that the
kids are just a little bit older, it is that much more fun!
This was a new game for me today and I LOVE it.  It was
loads of fun!!

Dinner this evening was fantastic.  Between Matt's ribs and corn on the cob, Mom's baked beans, potato salad and apple pie and Laurel's coleslaw...oh my!  Of course once we were done eating, the "contest" part of the evening began.  Matt and Josh had to see who could do the most push-ups, Shale, Eli and Brianna did the same.  Marcia instigated the "leg wrestling" portion of the evening between all the cousins/ aunts & uncles and then there is always the old stand-by...."Can you eat five Saltines in one minute?"  I did humor my son, took five of the crackers but knowing (from previous attempts) that I would not finish this ridiculous feat, I stacked all my crackers together, took one bite put the rest aside and watched everyone else try to choke theirs down.  If you haven't tried this little challenge, oh please try....it really is impossible! And no, put the water glass down - this is illegal.

There were 15 of us at the house today.  We did attempt to take a group photo but....all of them turned out blurry so none to post today.  I've got a couple more days to capture this gang all together so don't worry!

Marcia, Marcia Marcia....I just love this girl!  We look a little worse
for the wear after all the shenanigans today but I don't care - what a great day!

Shale and I are back at the trailer, kids are with Grandma and Grandpa. We are to meet up with everyone first thing in the morning for a pancake breakfast and then on to Fort Knox later for fireworks and fun - it's going to be an early morning and long day but, this family is well worth it!

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!  Until tomorrow.....
